Lt. Ronald F. Walker, of Renton, formerly Coalfield, died on Sunday, June 1, 2008. He was 62 years of age.

Ron was born on July 2, 1945 in Renton to Francios and Hattie Walker. He was raised in Coalfield and graduated from Issaquah High School. Following high school, he served on the United States Coast Guard Cutter Winona as a radio operator during the Viet Nam War.

Ron volunteered for Fire District 10, Station Three Fire Department located in Coalfield when he was a young man. After the war, he continued his interest in the fire industry working as a firefighter for the Tukwila Fire Department until retirement. He also worked for Knife Technology in Seattle.

Ron enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his brother Francis ''Sonny'' who preceded him in death in November 2007. He and his brother took on many projects together including digging a basement under Ron's house, repairing cars, and raising animals. In addition, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren,fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his children, Ronald, Donald and Pamela Walker, a brother Rev. Bob Walker and his wife Jeanette, of St.Theresa, New Mexico; one sister Shirley Weston of Polson, Montana; four grandchildren, Kailey Smith, Travis, Tyler and Jason Walker; three nieces, Dawn Thompson, Kathy Rhee, and Danelle Isaac; four nephews, Mark, David, Daniel and Roman Walker; four great nieces, Amalia and Jennifer Thompson and Brianna and Kristen Isaac; and three great nephews, Nathan Isaac, Andrew Walker and Donavan Rhee.

A memorial service will be held 1 P.M. Saturday, June 14,2008 at Lower Hillside Cemetery, Issaquah, Washington.Immediately following the graveside service there will be a reception with light refreshments at the Community Church of Issaquah, 205 Mt. Park Blvd. SW, Issaquah WA
